Facebook's language targeting allows you to deliver ads in the right language to the right person seamlessly.
This is useful for advertisers who want to, for example:
- Target only Hindi speakers in India, where several languages are spoken.
- Find all the English speakers worldwide – marketers who only target countries like the US and the UK are missing a vast international Anglophone audience.
During ad set creation for most objectives in Ad Manager, where it says Add locations, type in the countries you are targeting.
You can learn shortcuts to select many countries at once in What's the best way to target my ads to multiple countries/worldwide? You can also click the Browse button to open a drop-down menu of country groups to target.
- Now, in Languages, type in the language of your ad. Select from the drop-down menu.
Success! On the right, the audience size measure has updated. The audience selection in the example is fairly broad as there are many Spanish speakers in South America.
You may choose to narrow your audience with further targeting – perhaps by age, gender or interests.
